blogging

10 05 2010

I like blogging but I would never do it in my spare time. Reading blogs is a different story. I might read a couple now and then, but not on a regular basis. If people just write about random things, it is more fun to read about.

books

2 05 2010

1. Speak
2. Ender’s Game
3. Whirligig
4. Cold Sassy Tree
5. The Glass Menagerie
6. Romeo and Juliet
7. A Midsummer Night’s Dream
8. Fahrenheit 451
9. The Odyssey
10. Animal Farm
11. 1984
12. Great Expectations
So yeah, Speak was actually interesting and fun and I could somewhat relate to it. Cold Sassy Tree and Ender’s Game were a fun read. I could not/ can not read 1984 and Great Expectations without falling asleep. GE is so wordy and the sentences are too long and the book is too big. There is some kind of story line hidden under the mile long strings of useless sentences. Yup.

Style

25 04 2010

My favorite writing style by far would be Cecily von Ziegesar because she talks like a girl my age and even though her books are a little bit crazy, they are easy to understand and really fun to read. She really tries to relate with her audience in terms of style (since most of us can’t relate to the plot) and i think that’s what makes her a great author.

LIT grade

18 04 2010

Well, my lit grade is pretty good. It’s not one of the best but its decent. To raise it, I will definitley start by actually reading Cold Sassy Tree and paying attention while I read. I will also try to do a really good job on my research project since I think if I try, I can get a really good grade on it. Since this research project is worth so much, I can definitley raise my grade with it. Also, I will try to do my blogs every week since they have been bringing my grade down and it is an easy 100.

my family

27 03 2010

Um, well, my family is a bit different than the typical family. I guess you could say we are all more of friends than family members. We make jokes about each other and treat each like how I treat my friends. My dad is the most normal, and then my mom behind him. My brother is a nutcase however. We only have one tradition and that is each one of us has to decorate a room in the Christmas season and whoever does the best job wins. We also watch movies together on friday nights normally

group

21 03 2010

Normally, i love group projects. But i only like to do group projects when you’re working with people you trust especially when a major grade is on the line. That way, you are not so stressed out all the time. Since you know the people better, it is also easier to plan times when you can get together and stuff like that. I guess group projects are less tense when the grade is worth less but I think its easier when you’re working with people you know well and you trust more. Other than that, group projects are amazingg and i like them more than individual projects.

the proposal

14 03 2010

okay, the proposal was easily one of my favoritest movies from the past year. the whole plot of the movie overall was heart-warming but it had a lot of comedy incorporated into it. i literally did not stop laughing the entire time until the end when i was touched by the ending. if you have not seen this movie, you have been missing out.

lalallalla

Hmmm, where to start. OKay first of all, I am really sick of this stupid weather. I was wearing a tank and a skirt playing tennis in the beautiful weather yesterday. And then today it snows like the whole day? Cmon georgia, pull it together. Secondly, I really wish that everyone had a mind reading ability. It would make my life 2348723482 times easier if I knew what someone was thinking. AND, if people could read my mind then I wouldn’t have to say it out loud and look totally obnoxious. Suppose I was wearing this ugly green shirt and everyone said it looked pretty so they wouldn’t hurt my feelings. Well if I could read their minds then I would no it was hideous and I would get to go home and change my shirt and not make a complete fool out of myself. Do you see the convenience? OKAYYYY, BYE!

where art for thau romeo

25 02 2010

I don’t believe Romeo and Juliet has any relevance whatsoever to current teens. First of all, most of us aren’t planning on getting married anytime soon. Secondly, I’m pretty sure I don’t know any 14 year old that has killed someone or that will climb up a cloth ladder just to get to his girlfriend’s room to have sex. Call me crazy but i don’t think that’s what teens are doing at this time. And lastly, i don’t think any of us are so in love that we would die if our love was gone.

love at first sight

21 02 2010

I dont think its possible to fall in love at first sight. A person might think someone is attractive when they first see someone and might want to meet this person, but there is no way you can look at someone for the first time and be like omg, i love you. Its not possible. If you cant judge a book by its cover, how areĀ  you supposed to fall in love with a person when you first see them?
